NEW ENDURANCE SPORTS FESTIVAL (28-30 AUGUST 2026)

Following the recent announcement of the partnership between Run Banchory and Red On Sports, we are pleased to confirm that a new destination endurance sports festival will take place in Banchory from 28–30 August 2026.

Full event details, including the festival name and entry information, will be announced in early March.

Ahead of this, we are holding a series of community consultation drop-in sessions at Banchory Sports Village (Provost Webster Road). These sessions are specifically designed to share information about anticipated local impacts, including road closures and traffic management, as well as the measures being put in place to minimise disruption.

The drop-in sessions will take place as follows (no booking required):

Wednesday 18 February

14:00–16:00

18:00–20:00

Thursday 19 February

10:00–12:00

We warmly encourage local residents and businesses to attend, meet the team, and learn more about how the event will be delivered responsibly and in partnership with the community. We look forward to speaking with you.

EXPECTED LOCAL IMPACTS & MITIGATIONS

The map overleaf outlines the zones that will experience temporary road restrictions during the festival weekend. While some areas may require full closures at specific times, others will operate under managed or single-lane access.

Red On Sports is committed to minimising disruption and will implement a comprehensive Traffic Management Plan. This includes the appointment of a professional Traffic Management contractor, stage-gated closure periods, single-lane operations where possible, 10mph limits for authorised vehicle movements, resident parking and shuttle provision, managed access and egress when safe, a dedicated Event Control Room with a community telephone line, guaranteed emergency service access, pre-planned vehicle movements (subject to safety considerations), and a dedicated webpage providing up-to-date Traffic Management information.
